BPS Holds Pepper Plantation Strategic Commodity Survey in 2022 (VKOMSTRAT)

Thursday 24/2, Head of BPS Sumatra Selatan Province, Zulkipli attended the 2022 Sumatra Selatan Pepper Plantation Strategic Commodity Survey Officer Training event (VKOMSTRAT) which was held at Hotel Santika Palembang.

In the ongoing activity, Zulkipli provided direction and motivation to all participants to continue to be optimistic about the success of the survey.

This survey is very important considering the large contribution of the agricultural sector in the economy of South Sumatra, in this case including pepper as one of the national strategic commodities. The VKOMSTRAT 2022 survey activity is the first BPS survey that uses the ICS-Pro application which can improve the quality and accuracy of data collection. VKOMSTRAT aims to obtain data estimates for the number of pepper business households, the amount of pepper production, as well as the characteristics of the cultivation and distribution of pepper production by households.
