Special Smartday with Prof. Abuzar Asra, M.Sc., Ph.D.

On Wednesday (11/1) BPS South Sumatra Province held a Smartday event with special guests Prof. Abuzar Asra, M.Sc., Ph.D., Retired Professor of Research at the Central Statistics Agency and Professor at Muhammadiyah Saintek University. The event was opened with remarks from the head of the BPS Province of South Sumatra, Dr. Ir. Zulkipli, M.Sc. and continued with knowledge sharing with the theme Statistics: The Forgotten Little Things. Also present online were all BPS employees throughout South Sumatra.

On this occasion Prof. Abuzar reminded again of the ins and outs of statistics that have been forgotten, starting from statistical information and public policies, statistical illusions, indicators and phenomena, be careful with pictures, remember the context to the main mission of being a 'statistician'. In addition, he also distributed two of his books to participants who could give the best answers. The event was closed with a lively discussion about statistics between Prof. Abuzar and the participants who attended, both charmingly and boldly.
