Quality Monitoring for 2023 Agriculture Census Data Quality Assurance

To monitor the quality of agriculture data produced from the 2023 Agriculture Census, the Central Bureau of Statistics has prepared several strategies, one of which is Quality Monitoring for Individual Agriculture Business (IAB). Quality Monitoring aims to provide early warning by knowing indications of errors that occur in the field during the data collection series. This indication of error was reviewed both from the perspective of the implementation of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and the contents of the questionnaire used during the enumeration.

The implementation of ST2023 Quality Monitoring for IAB was carried out simultaneously on 7-12 June 2023 in 3 Local Environmental Units (LEU) in selected sample districts/cities in all provinces in Indonesia. For the Province of Sumatera Selatan, the implementation of QM ST2023 for IAB was carried out in Palembang City as a regional representative with the CAPI (Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing) mode of enumeration, and in Ogan Ilir Regency as a regional representative with the PAPI (Paper-Assisted Personal Interviewing) mode of enumeration. MK ST2023 for IAB staff conducted interview with a sample of 10 respondents in each selected LEU sample that had been previously enumerated by the ST2023 officer to find out whether the enumeration was in accordance with the concepts and definitions presented during the training. Meanwhile, for the compliance of field officers with the SOP, MK officers conducted interviews with Census Field Officers and Census Field Examiners.

Any findings of errors and discrepancies with the SOP will be measured and reported at the Exit Meeting which will be held at the end of the Quality Monitoring for IAB period, namely June 12, 2023. (NWAS)
