Supervision of the Implementation of the 2023 Agricultural Census in OKU Selatan District

The Central Bureau of Statistics is currently carrying out the 2023 Agricultural Census activities in all regions of Indonesia. The implementation of ST2023 is expected to be able to provide a comprehensive picture of the condition of agriculture in Indonesia down to the smallest areas. The data from ST2023 were also used as a sampling frame for the agricultural survey and as a benchmark for current agricultural statistics. Thus, maintaining the quality of the 2023 Agricultural Census data is something that must be paid close attention to and is a shared responsibility at the Provincial BPS and Regency/City BPS.

One of the strategies to maintain the quality of ST2023 data is to carry out direct supervision and assistance to field officers. To oversee the 2023 Agricultural Census, the BPS of South Sumatra Province is conducting direct supervision in the field to the district/city BPS. On June 16, 2023 BPS supervising officers for South Sumatra Province together with the head of BPS for South Ogan Komering Ulu Regency and the ST 2023 implementation team for OKU Selatan Regency conducted direct supervision of the ST2023 implementation field in Banding Agung and Mekakau Ilir sub-districts. In this activity coordination and discussion were carried out with field officers regarding problems and obstacles in the field. In addition, assistance is also provided to field officers. From this activity it is hoped that the implementation of the 2023 Agricultural Census will proceed according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and according to a predetermined schedule.
