Abstract

Sumatra Selatan Province in August 2021 experienced deflation of 0.05 percent, Calendar Year inflation (cumulative) until August 2021 was 0.71 percent. Meanwhile, the "Year on Year" Annual Inflation (August 2021 to August 2020) was 1.74 percent.

The dominant commodities that caused deflation in August 2021 in Sumatra Selatan, among others: red chili, cayenne pepper, gold jewelry, cork fish and rice, which experienced a decline in prices compared to the average price in July 2021.

Palembang Municipality in August 2021 experienced deflation of 0.04 percent, Inflation for the Calendar Year (Cumulative) until August 2021 was 0.74 percent. Meanwhile, the "Year on Year" Annual Inflation (August 2021 to August 2020) was 1.75 percent.

Lubuk Linggau Municipality in August 2021 experienced deflation of 0.21 percent, Inflation for the Calendar Year (Cumulative) until August 2021 was 0.44 percent. “Year on Year” Annual Inflation (August 2021 to August 2020) of 1.60 percent.

Indonesia in August 2021, based on price monitoring during August 2021 in 90 CPI cities, showed that 34 CPI cities experienced inflation. Meanwhile, 56 cities experienced deflation.

The highest inflation occurred in Kendari City, at 0.62 percent, the lowest was in Tanjung City at 0.01 percent.

The highest deflation occurred in Sorong City at 1.04 percent, the lowest in Meulaboh, Sukabumi, and Timika at 0.03 percent.
