Abstract

  • In January 2025, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in South Sumatra Province was 0.92 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.63. The highest inflation occurred in Ogan Komering Ilir Regency at 1.57 percent with a CPI of 108.77 and the lowest occurred in Lubuk Linggau City at 0.50 percent with a CPI of 104.81.
  • Inflation y-on-y occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 2.89 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.11 percent; health group by 1.66 percent; transportation group by 1.84 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 1.97 percent; education group by 1.87 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 1.71 percent; and personal care and other services group by 8.66 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decrease in the index were: housing, water, electricity, and household fuel by 7.89 percent; household equipment, tools, and routine maintenance by 0.72 percent and information, communication, and financial services by 0.37 percent.
  • The month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation rate for South Sumatra Province in January 2025 was 0.36 percent and the year-to-date (y-to-d) deflation rate was 0.36 percent.
