HDI discussion with BAPPEDA of Sumatera Selatan Province

On Thursday, 8 June 2023, the Bappeda of the South Sumatra Province visited the BPS regarding HDI figures. The meeting discussed the efforts and recommendations that could be made by the local government in order to increase the HDI in South Sumatra.

HDI is a concern for the provincial government of South Sumatra. The Human Development Index (IPM) measures human development achievements based on a number of basic quality of life components. As a measure of quality of life, HDI is built through a basic three-dimensional approach. These dimensions include a long and healthy life; knowledge, and a decent life. These three dimensions have a very broad meaning because they are related to many factors.

Previously, Governor Herman Deru and his staff had prepared a priority development and welfare improvement program that could support the efforts of the South Sumatra provincial government to increase the HDI. (NWAS)
