BPS responds to the challenge of the increasing need for quarterly GRDP data down to the Regency/Municipal level. Simultaneously with the adaptation of the change in the method of calculating GDP/GDP to be based on Chain Value Measures (CVM), the BPS of Sumatra Selatan Province held a Workshop on Increasing the Understanding of Measurement of Regency/Municipal Regional Accounts. This activity was carried out to increase understanding of regional accounts, especially at Regency/Municipal BPS. In addition, the activity of calculating Quarterly GRDP in Regency/Municipal will be carried out for the first time with most of the HR balances being new. Thus, this activity is a form of quality assurance and the quality of the resulting accounts data.
The workshop program was officially opened by the Deputy for Production Statistics, Mr. M.Habibullah, followed by a presentation from Mr. Dirta Pratama S.E., M.Sc, as Chair of the Research Institute of the Faculty of Economics, University of Sriwijaya. in his presentation, he explained the role of GRDP in the Regional Macroeconomic Analysis Framework.
To increase the understanding of the workshop participants regarding the preparation of regional accounts, coaching materials were presented by speakers from the BPS Nerwilis Team for Sumatra Selatan Province accompanied by 2 supervisors from BPS. The material presented in this activity includes the concepts and methods for calculating regional accounts which consist of the concept of statistical units, output, intermediate consumption, added value, final consumption, investment, export import, rebasing GRDP using the CVM method and methods for calculating Regency/Municipal GRDP according to expenditure and business fields based on standard worksheets
