Abstract

  • The Gender Inequality Index (IKG) for South Sumatra Province in 2022 was 0.517, down 0.003 points compared to 2021 which was 0.520.
  • The decline in the Gender Inequality Index (IKG) of South Sumatra Province was mainly influenced by improvements in the dimensions of reproductive health and empowerment dimensions.
  • Improvements in the reproductive health dimension were influenced by improvements in the indicator of women giving birth not in health facilities which fell from 30.3 percent in 2021 to 28.6 percent in 2022.
  • The improvement in the dimension of empowerment was influenced by the improvement in the indicator that the percentage of women 25 years and over with senior high school education and above increased higher than that of men. The percentage of women will increase from 32.99 percent in 2021 to 35.75 percent, while the percentage of men will increase from 37.94 percent to 38.77 percent in 2022.
