National Statistical System Collaboration 2024

July 18, 2024 | Other Activities

In order to strengthen BPS's role in the National Statistical System (SSN) as a data statistical supervisor, BPS routinely conducts structured and comprehensive statistical management training at various levels, including for policymakers. This training reflects the collaboration between data supervisors and data providers, both at the central and regional levels.

“Collaboration in the national statistics aims to build the capacity of statistical managers, data sources, and statistical literacy in both statistical management and policy formulation. Strengthening the SSN will result in Official Statistics that are objective, independent, high-quality, and reliable,” said Imam Machdi, Deputy for Methodology and Statistical Information at BPS, during the opening of the National Statistical System Collaboration 2024 event in Bali (July 10). The event was attended by provincial heads of BPS, heads of Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Departments, heads of statistics divisions in regional governments, and central and provincial sectoral statistical supervisory teams from across Indonesia.

Panel discussions with speakers from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, Ministry of Communication and Informatics, and Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas further strengthened collaboration on accelerating development transformation in Indonesia. Participants were also invited to benchmark with the Government of Bali Province (@pemprov_bali), one of the provinces with the highest Statistical Development Index in Indonesia. Dewa Made Indra, Secretary of Bali Province, was present to receive the visit.

Participants actively engaged in discussions with the Head of Bappeda Bali Province and the Head of Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Department of Bali Province regarding the implementation of the One Data Forum in the region. This collaboration in providing high-quality statistical data is expected to realize a reliable, effective, and efficient SSN.
